You are in for a real treat by bringing
the inspiration of music into your life.
Whether you or your child want to pursue a
career in singing or piano, study music in
college or just want to perform in the privacy
of your home, you have come to the right place. |
Carrie
Bell has performed in professional musical
theaters in California, New York City, and
Georgia for more than 20 years. She has
served as lead vocalist and keyboardist for jazz
and cover bands, sung and played piano bar, and
recorded as a guest artist (private and
commercial music) in professional studios
throughout the country. Carrie also
composes music (piano/vocal) in several styles
and aspires to perform in local venues.
|
Carrie earned her Equity status through
extensive musical theatre performing and will
periodically travel to NYC for workshops and
auditions. She has studied both voice and
piano with some of the finest instructors in
college and in private training. Carrie's methods compile the
very best of what she learned from each of these
gifted teachers. Additional expertise has been
gleaned for her performing experiences.
She has been a vocal and piano teacher for more
than 20 years and has directed and taught
numerous musical theatre camps that have
provided intense acting, vocal, and dance
training, as well as an overview of all other
aspects of musical theatre (make-up, set design,
props, costumes, etc.) |

"It is important
to provide an environment
where students feel safe and relaxed, so
that
the learning experience is joyful and
fun. The piano and voice are
instruments of expression, and I want
you to enjoy your journey while building
the discipline and training you need to
become and be the very best musician and
performer you can be." --Carrie Bell

Carrie provides instruction on everything
you need to know to be the best singer and
performer you can be. Piano instruction
includes: proficiency in music reading (notes,
rhythm...), theory, ear training and composing
and the student will be introduced to a wide
variety of styles. Vocal training includes:
breathing, intonation, ear training, proper
vocal placement and sound production, as well as
working with a microphone in a live and
recording environment. Furthering the music
training will be live performance, stage
presence and etiquette and communicating through
song and communicating with your audience. |
|
Carrie will also train the student on specific
musical styles and how to make adjustments in
vocal technique to give an appropriate sound and
stylization for all genres: jazz, opera, musical
theatre, pop, gospel, e.g. Because she
is also a pianist, students have the opportunity
of her accompaniment during lessons and in
performance. She can also provide
melody guides and backup CDs that are recorded
for the student. Students will have the
opportunity to record and create their own CD
that can be used as a demo, gift, or just
for personal enjoyment. |
|
When the student is ready, vocal material
will be prepared for auditions, public
performances, and musical theatre roles.
For the progressing vocal student, Carrie offers several workshops in the Summer
that cover auditioning, character development,
and general stage performance which also gives
opportunity for students to perform in front of
each other. Workshops are limited to 8-10
people to ensure maximum focus on each student
and more performing time. |
|
Rates are hourly, 45 or 30 minutes depending
on ability and need. Every session is also
individualized to the particular needs of the
student; there is no "rote" coaching, and she
makes sure students truly understand that week's
coaching before they walk out the door. |
